US offers $5m bounty in hunt for Joseph Kony

The Obama administration announced it would provide up to $ 5 million reward for information leading to the capture Lord's Resistance Army leader, Joseph Kony, two of his close aides and a leader Rwandan rebel suspected of crimes against humanity.

• rewards are offered under a provision in the rewards program written for war crimes by the U.S. Secretary of State when he was Senator John Kerry, according to U.S. officials.
• Kony is accused of widespread atrocities ordered in a brutal campaign by the power that began in Uganda in 1980.
